I don't know why but I am just instantly picked up and feel like I can do anything when I see plants growing out of cracks in rocks, metal, etc. This one is really thriving!!!
ReplyDeleteJulie - There's hardly a single building here that isn't sproutong something, so I'm pretty sure you'd be ecstatic!
DeleteClaude,
ReplyDeleteHow great to read that you made it to New Orleans, however, I do not envy your 13 hour bus ride. And while the color palette of you current accommodations are lacking you are in a third floor tower room at the St. Vincents, it almost sparks of a romantic gothic novel and I must wonder if you will be tapping into this as inspiration when going on some auditions a little later.
And only our Claude would hit New Orleans with a Baptists Convention going on!!! Oh the irony of that, lol. Oh, maybe more inspiration. And speaking of apartment hunting, are there a lot to choose from or are apartments limited. I know you have a budget but I was just wondering if there were a large number of vacant units in general. You know me, Mr Curios Question Asker.
Great shots of the cemetery, not that I would care to stroll about at midnight, but your picture has captured this one superbly. Of course I have questions, who’s, what’s and where’s but I will not bother you with them, well for the time being anyway, lol.
Well it looks as though you have hit the Big Easy running and full throttle Claude, hoping that the coming weeks will find you snugging in and having a grand time. Keep us up dated. – gary
Gary... if you get on a 91 bus or the 47 streetcar youll end up at the cemetaries. They're extensive, and very impressive. If you ever visit, id recommend the morning, as there's no trees or shade and they're hot... I understand the locals used to call the little mausoleums "ovens" and I can see why.
DeleteThere are definite rentals available, but they can be tricky to find. People seem to be against advertising here. You kind of have to get in a neighborhood and search out. For rent signs. Then hope they return a call. Tomorrow ill be looking in Algiers.
Love that little fern photo.
ReplyDeleteHey Katina, nice to see you! The wells here are full of ferns and moss and bromiliads. Kind of cool actually
