I love this plant, it's fire-hot blooms seem to be perfectly happy in our summer heat. I'm very interested to see how tall it gets... right now, it's climbing about 2 feet, but supposedly, it can get much, much taller... Thanks to Julie, over at A Succulent Life for sending me these wonderful plants...
Oh, how gorgeous!!! Yeah!!!!! Mine are about 3 ft. high, and Mom's are as high as 6 feet!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful flower and so unusual! I love it. And boy can they get tall.
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous one! Wonder if they'd survive in Virginian highlands..
ReplyDeleteOooh, thanks for sharing, I've never seen one of those before!
ReplyDeleteNow why have I never seen them in gardens around here? It's a beautiful plant. How long do they bloom?
ReplyDeleteErrant - generally, you would lift the bulbs for the winter and replant them in the spring...
ReplyDeleteWalk2write... once they start blooming they continue until frost basically... they produce blooms one at a time. The blooms aren't as big as the oriental lilies, but the plants vine and climb. I'm very impressed by them...
Hi Claude,
ReplyDeleteBoy, it's been a good long time since I visited. My hubby had his health issues, and then I've had my own, so I've not visited any blogs or updated my own in close to a month. It's been fun catching up on the July posts that I missed. Glad to be back!

Hey Claude...can you check out what I believe are mushrooms that grew in a pot over at my friends blog @ A Few of My Favorite Things...they are in a pot of Senecio Haworthii, and at first glance she thought that her plant was blooming. I thought "mushroom" the minute I saw them, and when I made the photo big, i saw that the stems were growing right out of the dirt. I found online a mushroom which looks like a Japanese parasol...you can read my comments...just want to know if you think I am right or not. There are a few more pics of it on Google images, but if I am right, I am encouraging her to post her photo on a mushroom ID site. Thanks in advance. I know you are a shroom lover, just like me!!! If you have time, anyway...if not...no worries! :)
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you, Claude.....
