Snow! And it's still coming down... the weather started sayin 1 to 3 inches, but now they're talking 3 to 5... someone on my message boards said they heard on one station about 5 to 7...
That's my truck. Obviously, I'm not driving today... probably not tomorrow either. Because what thaws on the roads during the day will freeze solid tonight...
And that's the palm tree... poor thing...
Now, this is Texas... we're not supposed to have this problem here...
If this keeps up I'm gonna get as cold and foul tempered as a yankee...
I've got a big pot of beef & vegetable soup on, enough to walk down to Miss D down the street, and I may take some to a couple of others in the neighborhood...
There is nothing better than to be nice and snug with a bowl of hot soup or a cup of hot cocoa when it's cold and snowy outside.
ReplyDeleteI spoke too soon eh , poor agave . I have an aloe chinesis that had nearly died 4 times from cold , much less what snow would do to it.
ReplyDeleteSorry if i jinxed you.
Reading blogs in other climates is so wierd... My brain, trained by an upbringing in a part of the country where we say, "Oh, another foot of snow last night" and then go to work can't get over the fact that the dusting of snow on the road means "obviously I'm not driving today... probably not tomorrow either." Even without salt and snowplows that little dinky bit of snow isn't going to hurt you! I mourn for your plants, though, and hope they make it through okay.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived up north, it wouldn't have stopped me either... unfortunately, most of the people here have little to no experience with over 1 inch of snow and the wrecks are piling up out there. We're at about 5 inches now...
ReplyDeleteIf this keeps up I'm gonna get as cold and foul tempered as a yankee...
ReplyDeleteAhem.
Well I guess we know what the grass clump patterns were trying to tell you :) - G
